Madrid is the capital of Spain, it’s a very busy city located almost in the center of the country.  We visited in December, hence all the Christians holiday lights, very festive and beautiful.  Weather was almost identical to New York and New Jersey, warm days when sun is out and very cold on cloudy days with winds.  Our nine day trip was for visiting a close family member who has been in the hospital for over a month, we left him in great spirits and feeling better.  Mateu and I still found a little time in between hours to enjoy Madrid and needless to say we did a lot given the urgent circumstances.
